AUSTIN, Texas (Sept. 10, 2024) – The Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) has awarded Operation Finally Home a Fund for Veterans’ Assistance Grant for grant year 2024-25. The grant, which totals $500,000, targets low-income veterans and will help Operation Finally Home further its mission of providing home modifications for wounded, ill and injured veterans, and surviving spouses throughout Texas.
Since 2014, the TVC has awarded Operation Finally Home more than $2,400 million in support of its mission.
“We are so grateful to the Texas Veterans Commission for this generous grant, which helps us complete more home modifications for more deserving American heroes,” said Rusty Carroll, president of Operation Finally Home. “We are honored to steward these funds and we take seriously our obligation to use these grants to make a positive impact in the Texas veteran community.”
The Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans’ Assistance (FVA) grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations and government agencies for specific services they provide veterans and their families. There are more than 181 FVA grants totaling more than $44 million to 161 organizations across Texas. This the largest amount of grant funding awarded in the history of the TVC and is anticipated to serve more than 42,000 veterans, their dependents, and surviving spouses.
The grants support a wide range of services from emergency financial assistance to transportation, legal services to family support services and home modification to rental and mortgage assistance. For more information, visit www.tvc.texas.gov/grants/.
